Ja Rule was released from a New York prison Tuesday after serving two years, TMZ reports.



The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in 2010 due to an incident that took place in 2007 when cops found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his car. He turned himself in June 2011.
