It's been a long, hard year for Tabitha Mullings: She lost her hands - and then she lost them again.
The Brooklyn single mom fell suddenly ill last year, damaging all four limbs and her eyesight. And then in the spring, a heartless thief stole her prosthetic hands from her car.
"My legs were still there in the trunk," Mullings said.
Still, Mullings - whose story has been chronicled in the Daily News since the beginning - has… Continue
Glenn Beck, the hottest right-wing voice on the air, worried aloud to his listeners the other day that powerful, sinister forces trying to destroy America might soon "shoot me in the head."
But there's fear among his critics, including calmer conservatives, that the victim more likely will be one of Beck's many broadcast targets.
After a summer of mob anger at town hall meetings on health care - some of which featured gun-toting… Continue

So we are all supposed to rejoice today because Kim Clijsters, nice person and new mother, defeated Serena Williams, dilettante and tantrum thrower. It happened Saturday night at Ashe Stadium, 6-4, 7-5, in a circus finish to a semifinal that really didn't represent closure at all.
Really, it was all just very sad, lamentable. First there was the absurd foot-fault call by an overzealous lineswoman on an extremely critical point in that last game,… Continue
