West Coast legend Too Short has come forward to address recent allegations of rape by a former protégée.
In a statement to Complex Saturday (March 4), the rapper called the claims false, stating he would never engage in non-consensual sex. On Friday (March 3), TMZ reported the rapper born Todd Anthony Shaw, is a suspect in a rape case stemming from a November 2016 encounter with the accuser and Shaw at her home. In his statement, the rapper says he was never contacted by the police and “doesn’t plan to be.”
“Today, I read that I am being investigated for allegedly committing sexual assault,” the statment reads. “The allegations against me are completely false. Let me be clear, I have NEVER had nonconsensual sex with anyone, ever. I have directed my lawyers to vigorously combat these ridiculous claims. I have not been contacted by the LAPD about this matter and doubt I ever will be. If I am, I will direct my lawyers to fully cooperate and turn over 100’s of text messages and other evidence that will prove this woman is falsely accusing me. Thanks for your support.”
Running into TMZ cameras Friday evening, Too Short also addressed the claims, calling them 100 percent false.
Police officials confirmed they have not been in contact with the rapper about the reported investigation.
