Tupac And Biggie's Death Rides Are Up For Dueling Auctions

The final Biggie and Tupac beef could be over whose death whip sells first.

The ocean green GMC Suburban that the Notorious B.I.G. rode in when he was fatally shot on March 9, 1997 went up for auction on Friday — just one week after the black BMW Tupac was killed in went up for sale.

Both cars have asking prices of $1.5 million, according to the Moments in Time auction website.

The rivaling rappers died less than six months apart after they both fell victim to bloody drive-by shootings. The murders remain unsolved to this day, though many speculate that an ongoing beef between the two hip-hop legends led members of their respective entourages to carry out the killings.

The morbid auctions were first reported by TMZ.

Tupac’s BMW has switched owners a number of times, according to the auction site. But indents from the hail of bullets that struck the vehicle on Sept. 13, 1996 are still visible on insides of the door panels. The death mobile has more than 90,000 miles to its name.

Biggie’s ride has been the reliable mode of transportation for an unassuming Los Angeles family of six, who bought it at an auction less than a year after the “Big Poppa” rapper’s death. They learned that their family car had belonged to the rap star when a Los Angeles Police Department detective called and informed them that the vehicle was needed for a 2005 trial.

“We have kept the car now for 20 years and decided it is finally time to sell it,” the family wrote in an auction letter. “It is still in good running condition with 114,000 miles.”

The family refurbished the car, but promise in the auction letter that they will request that the LAPD return the original bullet-riddled doors to the new owner.
