Justin Bieber is the bullseye of Kevin Hart’s “operation roast everyone’s a--!”
The comedian will be on hand to host the “Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber” and add a few verbal jabs to his pal.
“I don’t normally do roasts, but I had to step out for my guy Biebs,” Hart said in a statement obtained by E! News. “It’s his big 21. It’s about to be operation roast everyone’s a--.”
The 35-year-old funnyman and the “As Long As You Love Me” singer have been friends for a while now.
“Chilling with the boys @kevinhart4real and J,” Bieber captioned an Instagram photo in August 2013 while hanging with “The Wedding Ringer” star and Jay Z in Miami.
Now, the 20-year-old pop star has accepted the challenge to be roasted with ease, and on his 21st birthday no less.
“For years I have wanted Comedy Central to roast me,” he tweeted when the roast was announced in January. “They said only if I provided them w/ more material so for a year now I have worked hard.”
Whether its his on-again-off-again love affair with Selena Gomez or he's been arrested as he was multiple times in 2014, Bieber is always at the center of the public eye for some reason or another, so there will be plenty of material for his roasters to use.
“Finally after all that hard work for my 21st bday it’s happening,” he wrote. “Thanks @RyanSeacrest & @ComedyCentral for the announcement. Let’s do it. :) Lol. #BieberRoast.”
With both Hart and Bieber amped up for the event set to tape onMarch 14and air onMarch 30 at 10 p.m.on Comedy Central, the network’s president of content development and original programming, Kent Alterman, put it best.
“They say only a good friend would verbally eviscerate another good friend for all his vulnerabilities,” he said in a statement. “Kevin Hart is a very good friend.”
