For the first time the singer is talking about the deaths of his ex-wife Whitney Houston and their daughter Bobbi Kristina .
In an interview with Robin Roberts for 20/20 the 47-year-old performer dissolves into tears while discussing his 22-year-old daughter.
Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub and spent six months in a medically induced coma before dying last July.
"The hardest thing I had to do in my life was to tell my daughter to let go," Brown confesses before breaking down. "My baby's gone."
She was found almost three years to the day that her mother, Whitney Houston was discovered also in a bathtub before the 2012 Grammy Awards. Eight months after her death, Bobbi Kristina announced her engagement to Nick Gordon who spent part of his childhood being raised by Houston. The duo claimed to having married but Brown vehemently denies the two were hitched.
Later when Gordon found Bobbi Kristina's lifeless body in their Atlanta townhouse, rumors began to swirl that he had a hand in her death. But the Fulton County Medical Examiner's report claims that her death was caused by "immersion of face in water complicating mixed drug intoxication."
Talking about his troubled 15-year marriage to Houston Brown remarked, "I came into the marriage with money and I left the marriage with nothing."
Brown seems to have found happiness with his second wife Alicia Etheredge who he wed in 2012. They have a seven-year-old son Cassius, daughter Bodhi who turns 1 in July and a new baby due later this month.
His memoir “Every Little Step” comes out later this month. The interview will air on ABC on Friday, June 10.
