The late rapper’s girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez, gave birth Saturday to his son, Gekyume Onfroy.
The birth was announced on XXXTentacion’s Instagram page by his mom, Cleopatra Bernard, who posted a photo of a cartoon baby with the words: “Yume has officially arrived.”
The newborn’s name is derived from a word the South Florida musician created before his death, defined by the family as meaning “a different state” or “next universe of thought.”
Sanchez was several months pregnant when the rising star rapper — whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy — was shot and killed outside a motorcycle dealership June 18 in what cops said was a botched robbery. He was 20.
Four men have been indicted by a grand jury for first-degree murder and armed robbery in his death.
