WTF! HOW YOU RUN A MARATHON & CATCH A BUS TO THE FINISH LINE?

When a British marathoner was flagging at mile 20 this weekend, he stepped on the gas. Literally.

Rob Sloan, 31, admitted he cheated in England's Kielder Marathon by hopping on a tourist bus with more than 6 miles to go.

The former army mechanic rode the vehicle for 5 miles, disembarked and hid behind a tree before rejoining the 26.2-mile race in Northumberland.

Sloan, who initially received a third place medal for his speedy time, was busted after witnesses complained and race organizers investigated.

He clocked in at an impressive 2 hours and 51 minutes - 21 minutes faster than his previous personal record.

"People in cars following the bus saw him get on and off," Dave Roberts, one of the event organizers, told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "Rob was distraught at having to come clean."

Sloan was stripped of his award and Steven Cairns, of Peebles, Scotland, was moved from fourth place to third.

Cairns recalled to the Daily Mail how Sloane bragged to local television stations "how good a race he had run and how he couldn't have given anymore."

Sloan will go before a district committee later this month and could banned from future marathons.
