A Chinese man whose hands were ripped from the rest of his body in a ghastly accident got four of his fingers reattached in the form of pincers.
Wang Jin, 18, was rushed to Xiang Ya Hospital in Changsha, Hunan Province on Dec. 11 after his hands got caught in a hammering machine, according to the Daily Star.
The X-rays show that both hands were snapped off at the wrist, and many of the fingers were broken beyond repair.
Surgeons did what they could to save some of the teenager’s movement. According to the Mirror, they attached his left pinky finger and right thumb to his right hand, and kept the index and ring fingers of his left hand.
It reportedly took doctors nine hours to make the claw-like extremities from the man’s severed hands.
About two weeks after the operation, Jin could reportedly move his fingers.
