Wiz Khalifa Arrested For Riding A Hoverboard At LAX

Wiz Khalifa got handcuffed on Saturday afternoon at Los Angeles International Airport because he wouldn’t get off his hoverboard, the rapper said on social media.

Several U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers apparently threw Khalifa, 27, to the ground at around 4 p.m. in a video posted to his Instagram feed.

“Get on the ground,” one of the officers said in the video. “Stop resisting.” The dreadlocked Khalifa allowed the officers to handcuff him in the short video. “I’m not resisting, sir,” he said several times.

The rapper took a flight to L.A. on Saturday after stays in France and Finland, he wrote on Twitter earlier in the day. He told fans the interaction with cops was “all because I didn't want to ditch the [technology] everyone will be using in the next 6 months.”

He said in a later Tweet, “I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hover boards so if you don't like it eat a d---!”

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Khalifa was arrested. Representatives for his record label didn't immediately respond to a request for more information early Sunday. A spokeswoman for LAX also didn't immediately respond to a request for official confirmation of the incident.

But the Los Angeles Airport Police had no interaction with Khalifa on Saturday, Officer Alicia Hernandez told the Daily News. The officers in the video appear to be CBP officers, she said. Officials in the agency’s Washington, D.C. headquarters didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

A picture from Tuesday shows Khalifa standing on top of a wheeled hoverboard at the airport. But the board didn’t show up in any of the footage or pictures from Saturday afternoon.

Khalifa spoke with the officers as people stood in line behind him in a video on his Twitter feed. The video was filmed one minute before he was thrown to the ground, according to its timestamp.

“I didn’t do nothing, anyway,” he told the officers. “What you want to do? Put me in jail because I didn’t listen to what you say? We can have all the conversations you want to, you can end up on TMZ, destined to become as famous as you wanna be.”

All that for riding a hoverboard tho …..
