Waka Flocka Flame Goes In On Atlantic Records Again

In case the year was going to close with any doubt, Waka Flocka took to Twitter late last night to remind everyone that he’s still got major beef with his label, Atlantic Records. Waka has been vocal about his disdain throughout the year, asking for a buyout back in April, reinforcing that fact in October and calling on fans to demand the release of Flockavelli 2 in November. Now, with the year wrapping up and no album or release date in sight, Flocka is back singing that same old song.

While persistence is key, Flocka has tried to persuade his label through social media before to no avail. In October, he revealed some of the behind the curtain workings, saying of Atlantic, “The first thing the label asked after I got shot is, ‘can you go to the studio,’” he wrote on Twitter. “From that day forward I knew my label didn’t care I’m just another dollar sign.” Flockaveli 2, the follow-up to Flocka’s 2010 debut, was originally scheduled to drop in June of 2015, but had been repeatedly pushed back, causing understandable frustration. Back in August, Flocka even put his feelings on wax, releasing a remix to “R.I.C.O.” rapping, “I sell to Atlantic, but don’t need a deal” and later, “Flockaveli a classic, so please stay tuned for the sequel.”
