VYBZ KARTEL TO GO ON TRIAL FOR 2 MURDER CASES IN DECEMBER & JANUARY!

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Wednesday November 7, 2012 – Following this week’s postponement of the murder trial of dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel, the controversial deejay will now face trials in the last month of this year and the first month of next in relation to two separate incidents.

Kartel will go on trial on January 21 for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, who was slain last year over the disappearance of an illegal gun.

The trial was originally scheduled to begin on Monday November 5, but Kartel’s attorney Valerie Neita Robertson was unavailable as she was appearing in another matter.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, along with fellow entertainer Shawn Campbell, popularly known as Shawn Storm; fashion designer Calvin Haye, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones are accused of murdering Williams at Kartel’s home on August 16 last year.

Media reports said that Williams and another man had been taken to the entertainer’s house to account for a lost firearm and were beaten. Williams, whose body has never been found, was reportedly stabbed to death and the other unidentified man escaped.

The police said they have video and audio recordings linking the singer and his co-defendants to the killing.

Kartel will also re-appear in court with two other persons later this month on charges of conspiracy in relation to Williams’ murder

Meanwhile, the murder trial of Kartel and co-accused Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald is scheduled to get underway on December 3.

The three men are facing charges in relation to the shooting death of Barrington 'Bossie' Bryan who was gunned-down in his Gregory Park community in July last year
