The BET Awards' best new artist nominee Rich Homie Quan might be up for best live molly wop next year -- after Quan laid a pimp slap on a fan in Wisconsin.

The 24-year old rapper played a gig at 3 Monkeys in Racine Friday night -- and during the set a fan attempted to pull himself onstage using RHQ's arm … according to Rich.

Big mistake. Quan scolded the guy from the stage ... and moments later slapped him in the head.

For now, cops say no one's filed a complaint, but the message is clear: Homie don't play that.
