Tracy Morgan To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ On Oct. 17

Tracy Morgan is primed to return to the Not Ready for Primetime Players' stage.

The funnyman is set to host "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 17, marking his triumphant return to performing after he was nearly killed in a harrowing highway accident in June 2014.

"SNL" tweeted the announcement on Monday, saying that the former cast member will be hosting the third episode of its 41st season.

A short time later, Morgan responded to the news with a tweet of his own: "Stoked to be going home..."

Morgan, 46, was in the show's cast from 1996 to 2003 and previously returned as host in 2009.

Also slated to appear at 30 Rock's Studio 8H for the first two episodes of the new season are pop singer Miley Cyrus and comedian and actress Amy Schumer.

Cyrus was set to open the new season on Oct. 3, while Schumer will serve as host on Oct. 10.

It will be the "Trainwreck" star's first time helming the iconic late night sketch program.

After the news broke, fans and "SNL" stars alike took to Twitter to celebrate Morgan's return to TV.

"Already clearing my calendar for (Oct. 17) to watch the Tracy Morgan SNL," one fan wrote.

Current cast member Pete Davidson name-checked Morgan, Cyrus and Schumer with a gleeful message to his 165,000 followers: "DOPEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

"I'm so f----n happy and excited," he added.

Morgan, who also starred on NBC's "30 Rock," suffered multiple broken bones and a traumatic brain injury when his limousine van collided with a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7, 2014.

Last week, the National Transportation Safety Board faulted the Walmart driver for speeding and being too exhausted to drive before the crash, which injured five others and killed Morgan's mentor, James (Uncle Jimmy Mack) McNair.
