The Weeknd Serenades Ex Bella Hadid

Sister Gigi wasn’t the only familiar face Bella Hadid saw on the Victoria’s Secret runway.

The 20-year-old model, during her first turn as an Angel for the annual fashion show, was forced to cross paths with her ex, The Weeknd, who performed at the event on Wednesday for the second time. And just like any real-world run-in with a former flame, it was awkward.

Several people in attendance shared clips of the moment, which captured the popular singer serenading his ex-girlfriend. Hadid, however, seemed a bit more focused on the runway show, which was held in Paris for the first time ever this year.

Strutting down the catwalk in a metallic-gray lingerie ensemble, Hadid couldn’t help but flash a smirk at her 26-year-old ex as he crooned his hit, “Star Boy,” in a sea of her fellow scantily clad models.

The Grammy Award-winning singer proceeded to walk part of the runway with his Angel ex, and then stared in admiration while she struck a pose at the runway’s end.

The pair, who split mid-November after nearly two years of dating, have tried to remain friendly despite their breakup, though the internet was quick to call out the Weeknd for the lusty looks he was aiming at Hadid. Some people on social media even went as far to suggest the duo didn’t actually breakup and that their separation was a gimmick for the fashion show.

And while she didn’t have time to show him any love while strutting her stuff down the runway, Hadid was quick to give her former beau a shout out on Instagram.

“Thank you @theweeknd for being the best and most incredible performer on the planet,” she captioned a photo from the show. “You killed it, as always.”
