To round out a knockout of a year in music, J. Cole plans to add to 2016’s discography with a reported new album titled 4 Your Eyez Only. The surprise notice was revealed by HipHop-N-More early Thursday morning (Dec. 1), after a pre-order option popped up on iTunes.
The 10-track listing was accompanied by a Dec. 9 release date, but leaves a mystery of what to expect from the Dreamville leader since no titles or features are evident. It’s safe to say that fans’ eyes will be glued to the “Crooked Smile” rapper’s Twitter timeline.
Next week Friday will also mark exactly two years since Cole debuted 2014 Forest Hills Drive to fans’ shock. Featuring hit tracks like “G.O.M.D.,” “Apparently,” and “No Role Modelz,” the Fayetteville native reached double platinum status without any outside verses from his peers.
Following FHD’s release, Cole toured the globe in support of his third studio album and hopped on a critically-acclaimed project with the Dreamville collective titled Revenge of the Dreamers II, which also debuted on Dec. 8, 2015.
