Back in 2010, Drake and The-Dream made magic together on Drake’s debut album Thank Me Later with their collaboration “Shut It Down,” but the two haven't worked together since.
In an interview with Genius, Terius “The-Dream” Nash explained why we haven't heard any additional songs from the duo and why it’s probably unlikely in the future. The-Dream said when Drake was working on his debut, he received a number of calls from Drizzy’s team asking him to hop on a track. Eventually, once The-Dream clarified that he was going to record things his way, the two put out "Shut It Down."
Though their collaboration worked out and Thank Me Later was received with great success, The-Dream said things did not go as he hoped when he wanted to work with Drake on his own project. “When the next album came along,” Nash recalls, “I asked him to get on the record and he never got on the record, and so I’m only going to ask you once, especially when I've already done something for you.
“That was it," he added. "That was the end of the Drake and Dream era of a record.”
