Singer August Alsina allegedly brandished a firearm at a group of fans that woudn’t leave him alone at a Southern California grocery store.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the 24-year-old artist was approached by three women and a man hoping to snap a picture at the Food 4 Less store in San Fernando Valley, Calif., TMZ reported.
Alsina — who recently revealed he's suffering from a liver disease — reportedly didn't feel well and declined to take the photo, but the fans continued to pester him. When Alsina made it to his car, he placed a gun in his waistband and flashed the butt of the weapon at the persistent group, according to TMZ.
A store clerk had already called the cops before the alleged gun incident because he noticed the fans bothering Alsina, but the singer had already left by the time authorities arrived.
An LAPD official confirmed to the Daily News that a police report was filed regarding the accusation that Alsina brandished a gun.
Cops at the scene established that Alsina never made a verbal threat during the confrontation, according to TMZ. A source familiar with the situation told the celebrity gossip site that the incident probably won't lead to charges.
A rep for Alsina did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The singer is best known for his song "I Luv This S---" with rapper Trinidad James.
Alsina revealed last month during an interview with actress Jada Pinkett-Smith that an autoimmune ailment has been affecting his liver.
"The reality is that I'm sick all the time," Alsina said. "I don't really like to talk about it because I'm not looking for anybody's sympathy. Don't treat me like I'm a f--king cancer patient, because I'm not."
