Rainbow-haired rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine actually managed to make it to court Tuesday — where it was revealed he’s now mulling over a plea deal.
The “Gummo” rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, was set to start jury selection in his cop-assault case, when his attorneys told the court he’s now considering a disposition instead.
The details of the plea discussions were not made public. Tekashi is accused of squeezing an arresting officer’s hand too tightly as the cop cuffed him for an outstanding warrant on July 11 at JFK.
The 22-year-old sauntered into Brooklyn Criminal Court Tuesday around 10:15 a.m., entourage in tow, sporting a navy-colored suit.
He appeared moody and forlorn, and did not address the judge during the brief hearing, during which one of his lawyers, Stephen Murphy, said he was leaving the case.
The rapper was threatened with jail just last week when he declined to appear in court because he was too busy flying around the world performing. It wasn’t his first missed appearance either — he also skipped a court date over the summer because he’d been kidnapped and robbed.
Asked why he was no longer representing the entertainer, Murphy said: “Too many cooks spoil the pot. There are too many people pulling him in different directions.”
He is facing sentencing later this month in Manhattan, for posting a sexually explicit video of an underaged girl.
Tekashi declined comment as he left court. He’s due back Oct. 23.
