Taraji P. Henson Says She Gets Treated Like She's A D-List Star

Taraji P. Henson has starred in blockbuster hits, but feels Hollywood has shunned her talent.

"I'm treated like I'm on the D-list," the 44-year-old Oscar-nominated actress said in the October Ebony cover story.

Henson has come a long way since her breakout role in 2001's "Baby Boy" with Tyrese Gibson, starring in countless films such as "Hustle & Flow," Tyler Perry's "The Family That Preys," and "Think Like A Man."

She received an Academy Award nomination in 2009 for her starring role alongside Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," and an Emmy nomination in 2011 for "Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story."

"I'm still being considered with actresses who haven't done half the stuff I've achieved," she told the mag.

The lack of appreciation hasn't slowed her down one bit. In fact, it inspires her to push forward even harder.

"When people tell me 'no,' I get hyped," she said. "Because when I prove that I can and will, I love watching people eat crow."

Something else she shamelessly loves watching is "ratchet, ratchet, ratchet" reality TV.

"Like any of the ‘Real Housewives’ shows, especially when they were fighting and a girl got her weave snatched out," she confessed. "That is my guilty pleasure."

Another guilty pleasure Henson enjoys and is willing to use her star power for is good food.

"To get my fat a-- into a restaurant," she told the mag when asked about the last thing she used her celeb status for.

"If someone tells me there's a wait, I'll walk right to the front of the line like, 'I need a table now. I need to eat, and I want this. So let's work this out,'" she added.

Despite her love for food, if Henson's waistline is impacted too greatly and her strict workout regime doesn't help, she's not afraid to get a little cosmetic help.

"My stomach," she said when asked what body party she'd fix in five years if needed.

"I get it from my mom, who had to get a tummy tuck because she didn't exercise," she explained. "I try to work out at least five days a week. But if it reaches the point where I am not satisfied, I'm just going to be like, 'Can you suck this out of me? Thanks!'"

The actress currently stars in the thriller "No Good Deed" alongside Idris Elba.
