Nicki Minaj claims her alma mater, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, turned her down when she offered to go back and speak to students.
The "Anaconda" rapper vented on Twitter, claiming she just wanted to go back to the performing arts school to "inspire" its current pupils.
"That school changed my life and I wanted to pay it forward to the students there now," she tweeted. "I was really looking forward to it."
Minaj, known for her wild performances and twerk-filled music videos, said the principal gave no reason for snubbing her offer. But the proposed stunt was part of a reality show, making it a no-go with the school, an education official said.
"Of course alumni are welcome back to our campuses and we love to celebrate their success, providing it does not interrupt the educational process," the official told the Daily News. "However, we do not allow reality TV to be filmed on school property. For documentaries, any visit to a public school must be educational in nature and cannot intrude on instruction."
When one fan tweeted, "That is SO wrong! Students need all the inspiration they can get!!”, Minaj wrote back, "I guess I'm not good enough."
Since Minaj allegedly got the cold shoulder, more fans have fiercely defended her online.
"Nicki is honestly the ONLY person that motivates me to go to school. My parents don't really push me like that," one Twitter user wrote.
"Because of Nicki's drive, I applied to two universities. Like I never thought I'd be at that point in my life," another confessed.
The Grammy-nominated performer has praised the school in the past.
"It was the first time I felt like I really fit in. Everyone there was creative," she told Teen Vogue in 2013. "For once, I didn't feel like there was something weird about me."
New York City's Department of Education said it was looking into Minaj's accusations.
