Suge Knight’s Robbery Trial Postponed Untill After His Murder Case

Jailed rap mogul Suge Knight got some breathing room Tuesday in his felony robbery case with comedian Katt Williams.

A judge agreed to postpone the duo's trial on charges they stole a paparazzo's camera in 2014 until after Knight faces a jury in February for his separate murder and attempted murder case.

"We agreed (the robbery case) will trail and be tried after the murder trial. It's so he doesn't have to be transferred back and forth as much, which can lead to problems," Knight's lawyer Thaddeus Culpepper said after a morning hearing in Los Angeles.

The lawyer said Knight is focused on his defense in the murder case and needs to maintain his health and limit the distractions sometimes caused by interaction with other inmates on the courthouse shuttle.

Knight, 51, has weathered serious complications with blood clots, difficulty breathing and an emergency appendix surgery while locked up, his lawyers have said.

"He's good," Culpepper told the Daily News Tuesday. "He's feeling better and just wants to prove his innocence."

Both Knight and Williams have pleaded not guilty to stealing the photographer's camera in the Beverly Hills street dispute partially caught on video.

The founder of Death Row Records is set to begin his murder trial Feb. 22, more than two years after allegedly mowing down two men outside a Compton burger stand, killing one of them.

He has been locked up, unable to make his $10.5 million bail, since his arrest on Jan. 30, 2015, for the alleged murder, attempted murder and hit and run.

He pleaded not guilty, claiming he accidentally killed local businessman Terry Carter, 55, as he attempted to flee an armed assault.

Prosecutors allege Knight was bent on revenge when he hit the gas on his Ford F-150 Raptor truck and first hit Cle "Bone" Sloan.

Sloan, a former gang member turned filmmaker, fought with Knight earlier that day at a production office tied to the NWA biopic "Straight Outta Compton."

Sloan was hospitalized but survived.
