The ex-wife of Marion “Suge” Knight says she had nothing to with Tupac Shakur’s death – and has blasted those who have implicated her as “stupid”.
Sharitha Golden hit back a day after rap mogul Knight, 51, reportedly accused her and former Death Row Records security chief Reggie White Jr of killing Tupac as part of a plot in which he was the real target.
Knight’s lawyer is said to have written a signed affidavit stating that “Knight has known for many years that Reggie Wright Jr and his ex-wife Sharitha were behind the murder of Tupac and attempted murder of Knight,” according to the makers of a new documentary Tupac Assassination III: Battle for Compton.
However, in an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, Sharitha, 49, dismissed the claims as “stupid lies” and called for people to use some “common sense”.
She also does not believe Knight would ever accuse her or Wright Jr of being involved in Tupac’s death – or a plot to kill him.
Stay-at-home mum Sharitha, who has four children and cares full-time for her disabled cousin, said: “Of course I did not kill Tupac.
“Does it sound like there’s any truth to it? It sounds really stupid to me.
“As far as me and Reggie plotting together come on now – there was no plot between us I don’t even see him on a regular basis.”
She added sarcastically: “I’m such a vicious person, I’ve adopted a kid, I take care of a disabled person but I’m a murderer? Come on now.
“I don’t know where America has gone. I don’t know why people are so fixated on this murder.”
Sharitha claims that the accusations that she killed Tupac have been hurtful to her four kids – her daughter with Knight, age 24, her youngest children with her husband, aged 15 and 18, and her adopted son, aged 21.
She firmly believes that Tupac was killed by Orlando Anderson, a person of interest in the murder, who was shot dead two years after the rapper’s notorious 1996 shooting – and other gang members who been involved in a fight with Tupac’s entourage earlier that night.
“What’s so bad is that all these people making these claims have no thought to the fact that I have kids that are on social media and they see all this stuff it’s not fair to me and my family,” she said.
“My son comes home and says ‘Oh mom you killed Tupac now?’ He’s at school and he saw it on Snapchat. It’s embarrassing.
“It’s been 20 years surely I’d have been arrested by now?
“It’s already been proven who killed Tupac – and he is dead now.
“Orlando Anderson killed Tupac that’s the bottom line to that story. It all stemmed from that stupid fighting in the casino.
“Why do they always have to come back to these theories?
“One minute I’ve got to deal with my daughter growing up in school and everyone saying her dad killed Tupac, now I’ve got two other kids in school saying their mom killed Tupac. When does this stop?”
