Suge Knight, Dr. Dre & Ice Cube Sued For Terry Carter Death

Music moguls Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are responsible for Terry Carter’s death at a Compton burger stand along with Suge Knight, a new lawsuit claims.

Carter’s relatives filed a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit in Los Angeles Wednesday against the three rap titans, movie studio Universal, Tam’s Burgers and former gang member Cle “Bone” Sloan, paperwork obtained by the Daily News states.

The filing seeks real and punitive damages for lost love, affection, wages and future earning capacity.

Carter, 55, died Jan. 29 after Knight mowed him and Sloan down with his truck during at violent altercation at Tam’s.

Knight, 50, has pleaded not guilty to Carter’s murder and remains in jail on $10 million bail.

Sloan was working on Dr. Dre and Ice Cube’s upcoming N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton" when he fought with Knight at a production location on Jan. 29 and then landed the first punch at Tam’s during a follow-up confrontation with Knight before the alleged murder, Sloan has testified in court.

Prosecutors claim Knight intentionally ran over Sloan as revenge and didn’t stop before running over Carter.

The lawsuit claims Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Universal, the distributor for "Straight Outta Compton," should have known Sloan and Knight had bad blood dating back years and that their decision to shoot the movie in Compton with Sloan on set and Knight unhappy with the script presented a serious risk.

“(They) should have known that there was a likelihood of some sort of violent confrontation between Suge and Bone (occurring) if they were ever allowed to confront each other, and that such an encounter could become violent and lead to damages and injuries to members of the public, including Terry Carter,” it claims.

“This whole desire to have gang reality and have a gang member in charge of security created a climate of danger, and everything worked out from there,” family lawyer Michael Berger told The News Wednesday.

“Terry was a respected member of the community and an innocent victim. He’s dead, and his family is in a difficult spot. They have serious family and emotional problems,” Berger said. “We hope to have justice.”

The lawsuit says Tam’s also shares in the blame because it failed to hire an armed security guard to create a safe environment in an area known for “frequent fights, altercations and other acts of violence.”
