Solange Knowles‘ launches stunning new line of glassware. Released under her Saint Heron creative house, the “Small Matter: Form Glassware 001” line is available at the MoMa Design store The pieces included in the collection were designed in partnership by Knowles and crafted by glassblower, Jason McDonald. Per the official description, the works of art “are crafted from lightweight borosilicate glass and produced using graphite molds, ensuring uniformity in each object’s form.” Additionally, the pieces “combine light, color, movement, and form, offering serene expressions of Small Matter’s design philosophy in a series of distinctive home objects. meticulously crafted glasses, which range from elegant wine flutes to statement goblets, Prices start at $41. She described how she fell in love with the creative process by being hands-on and fully immersing herself from start to finish. “I began to make silicone moulds to work with resin to just explore different forms, and I fell in love with the luminosity and transparency in these resin objects, but some months later I took some glass blowing glasses, and felt really connected to the process and material “To work with glass is to surrender yourself to be constantly moving on the material’s time, and then sort of freeze time with an object.”
