Snoop Dogg Will Induct Tupac Shakur Into 2017 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Nothing but a gangsta party will be going at the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions as Snoop Dogg will be installing Tupac Shakur.

‘Pac and Snoop were contemporaries as well as label mates on Death Row Records in the mid 1990s, and appeared together on the hit All Eyez on Me single “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.”

Reports had surfaced that Dr. Dre would be involved in the show as part of a three-song medley to honor the late MC, but according to Rolling Stone, the lineup has not been completed as of yet.

The induction of Tupac, over other deserving artists, became a debate in the hip-hop community shortly after the honor was announced. Public Enemy’s Chuck D took exception to the rap icon getting in before LL Cool J.

“Got forever love for PAC BUT there AIN’T a solo rap act that should get in the RRHOF before LL Cool J,” Chuck said via social media. “I don’t care about what naysayers think.”

Pac will join a short list of rappers that have been called on by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, including, Beastie Boys, Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, N.W.A and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

The ceremony goes down at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 7. Others getting honored include, Pearl Jam, Yes, Joan Baez, Journey and Electric Light Orchestra.
