A '90s gay film star with the nom de porn Ryan Idol faces 15 years in prison for a toilet tank lid murder try.

Former Playgirl centerfold Marc Anthony Donais was convicted this week of attacking his estranged girlfriend in a jealous rage on Sept. 5, 2009.

Donais, 45, of West Sacramento, Calif., could receive 15 years behind bars at his Dec. 9 sentencing for attempted murder.

Donais claimed he bashed the woman with the porcelain tank lid in self-defense when she came at him with a knife, but the California jury believed the story told by his former girlfriend.

The victim testified that Donais - who starred in eight gay porn films during the '90s - became infuriated with her after their break-up.

The woman moved out on Donais after catching him cheating on her with another man.

The 41-year-old woman said that within days of her decision to dump Donais, he knocked on the door of her in-laws' Sacramento apartment.

"I came here to kill you," she quoted him as saying before tossing her like a rag doll into the bathroom.

"He came in and he started beating me with his fists ... when he took the lid off the toilet, I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm not going to live,'" she told the jury.

The victim blacked out after she was smashed in the head, and awoke to feel "blood gushing down my shoulders."

Donais, who eventually became a Broadway actor, was "extremely disappointed," defense attorney Johnny Griffin III told the Sacramento Bee. "He was devastated by the jury's verdict."

The convicted man - who had been free on bail - was jailed immediately after the verdict to await sentencing.
