IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

It was the Year of Insanity, chicken, and some smoldering Rihanna — all washed down with an ice cold Bud.

That’s at least what Americans were searching for on Google in 2014, the tech giant revealed Tuesday.

The lifestyle-related data is part of Google's annual Year in Search report.

“Year in Search is a great window into what captured the world's attention over any particular year,” Google Trends analyst Roya Soleimani told the Daily News. “It’s a combination of the things that made us laugh or cry, or had us glued to our screens.”

The search portal doesn’t release actual numbers — but did break down which topics were more sought out on the Internet this year versus last.

And the biggest spike in search this year in the fashion world was the term “Rihanna Red Carpet” — no doubt thanks to that sheer Adam Selman number the singer wore at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards. “Lorde red carpet” and “Lupita (Nyong’o) red carpet” rounded out the field.

In other key lifestyle areas:

The biggest fitness search spike revealed that people were crazy about Beachbody’s Insanity, which bills itself the “hardest workout ever put on DVD.”

The low carb way of life piqued the public’s interest again in 2014. The caveman-inspired Paleo Diet was the year’s top trending diet, with the Atkins and “gluten free” diets rounding out the field.

Americans had a much bigger craving for chicken in 2014 than last year. There was also a rise in inquiries about meatloaf and banana bread recipes.

Budweiser was the most-searched-for beer overall, followed by Corona, Keystone, Miller and Blue Moon. Margaritas were the most searched cocktail.

For fashion advice, Google was there: “How to wear a scarf” was the top question, followed by questions about the proper attire for a wedding, interview, first date and concert.

In beauty, people most Google how to get rid of their acne, which makes sense given who uses the internet. Colostomy bag questions didn’t make the top 10, after all.

Here are some of the top Google lifestyle searches and search trends for 2014:
