Rick Ross Name Mentioned In 50 Cent's $32 Million Lawsuit Against Former Lawyers

The feud between 50 Cent and Rick Ross could escalate further stemming from a new $32 million lawsuit Fiddy’s filed as part of his bankruptcy drama.
50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, successfully emerged from Chapter 11 on Thursday by paying off his debts. But he’s also filed a new lawsuit for $32 million against his old law firm, Reed Smith, which repped him in the legal dispute that helped force him into bankruptcy.

In 2015, the rapper was sued by Ross’ baby-mama Lastonia Leviston, who claimed Jackson posted a sex tape of her online and was awarded $7 million. The leak was reportedly part of an ongoing beef with Ross — who said to Rolling Stone of Fiddy months after the Leviston verdict,

“My relationship with Curtis is really amusing, due to the fact that I’m the biggest [loss] he ever took.” On Instagram, Fiddy responded “I will have his HEAD.”

But sources noticed Ross’ name is mentioned in the legal malpractice suit Fiddy’s filed. It claims his Reed Smith lawyers “failed and neglected to interview and subpoena for pre-trial depositions and discovery key material witness[es], namely Ross,” and that the firm “failed to conduct a pre-trial interview or call Ross as a defense witness for Jackson.” (50 Cent had tried to claim Ross posted the Leviston video first.)

50 Cent’s new attorneys, Arthur Aidala and Imran Ansari, could try to depose Ross and others to show Reed Smith was negligent in the case.

A Reed Smith rep commented that the firm “filed papers with the Court in December setting forth the firm’s position as to why the claims made by 50 Cent are frivolous.” Those papers claim: “Reed Smith’s services for [50 Cent] . . . were at all times performed with the degree of care and professionalism to be expected,” and, “The outcome of the Leviston Action was undoubtedly due, in large part, to [50 Cent’s] decision not to take the trial seriously. He not only failed to testify, he essentially boycotted the trial . . . refusing to even appear in the courtroom.”
