Rick Ross Is Ready To Take On The Movie Business

Rapper Rick Ross is embarking on a movie career, he tells Page Six, with plans for two upcoming indie features.

Ross — who’s debuting this month as a talent judge on VH1’s new music-competition show “Signed” with producer The-Dream and Roc Nation’s Lenny S. — says he’s also taking on the movie business with not one but two features. The first will be with fellow rapper Gucci Mane.

“I am getting ready to shoot a film. I got two different flicks that I am ready to make a move on,” Ross revealed. “Me and Gucci Mane got a flick that we wrote together.”

He mused of his starring role, “It would be a good idea to see me as a preacher,” but then hinted of the movie, “All I can say is at the beginning of the film, I am at the car wash and it will go from there.”

Ross and Gucci together played car wash employees in a 2016 music video for Ross’ tune “Buy Back the Block,” in which they dream of owning a local business together — then decide to purchase the whole block. The clip’s racked up nearly 16 million views on YouTube.

Ross, 41, says of the independent movie with Gucci, “I don’t have a release date, but I want to film it, hopefully, in three or four months.”

The rap star hit No. 20 on last year’s Forbes list of highest-paid rappers, although he’s previously said of the list, “I’m always Top 5. That’s in my mind.”

He says plans away from music could involve marriage. “You never know, that can be a great thing,” he told us. “I never really see it, but it is a possibility. My heart is open to that.” When it comes to a prenup, “nothing is wrong with a prenup. But if she does not want to sign, that’s cool . . . But right now I am just cooling, so we will see.”

Busy Ross’ debut album, “Port of Miami,” hit No. 1, and he’s currently working on the sequel, “Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill,” 11 years later. He’s also the founder of record label Maybach Music Group with a roster that includes rappers Meek Mill and Wale.
