R. Kelly Pays $100K Bond Needed For Release

R. Kelly has finally coughed up the $100,000 bond needed for his release, according to police officials and his lawyer.

The embattled R&B star was expected to leave Cook County Jail on Monday night sometime after 6 p.m., officials said.

Kelly was forced to spend the weekend behind bars after his bail was set at $1 million.

The singer’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, told the judge at his bond hearing that Kelly would have a hard time paying the 10 percent requirement because his finances “are in a mess” and he owes nearly $170,000 in child support.

Kelly — who is facing felony aggravated sex abuse charges for allegedly assaulting four victims, three of whom were underage — entered a not guilty plea on Monday.

The 52-year-old is looking at possible life in prison.
