Queen Latifah Puts Her Castle On The Market

Queen Latifah is leaving her castle — but only for a princely sum.

The Grammy-winning singer and actor has just listed her six-bedroom New Jersey estate for $2.4 million.

Her highness is selling the 7,000-square-foot manse because she has been spending more time in California since relaunching her eponymous daytime talk show in September.

“Many incredible memories have been shared with those closest to me and my family in this home,” Latifah said in a statement.

Latifah bought the Colonial in tony Colts Neck for $2.14 million shortly after it was built in 2001, property records show.

Like a real medieval manor, the home features four fireplaces: one in the master bedroom, one in the library, one in the home office and one in the living room, which also features a 24-foot high wall of windows overlooking the secluded nine-acre property.

The master suite is certainly fit for royalty, with a marble bath, twin walk-in-closets and a chandelier.

All that’s missing is the moat, though an Olympic-size pool might do the trick.

It’s grand, but it’s no Versailles, said broker Robin Jackson of Coldwell Banker Preview.

“Even though it’s a huge home, it’s not overwhelming,” she said. “A family could live there and not feel lost.”

The estate, surrounded by horse farms and tall pines, is a far cry from the rough streets of Newark and East Orange, N.J., where Queen Latifah grew up — though back then, she was known as Dana Owens.
