He was a prolific writer of music — but apparently never made a will.
Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson filed bombshell court paperwork Tuesday revealing the Purple One died without an obvious plan for the disposition of his multimillion dollar estate.
She asked the court to open a probate case and appoint a special administrator since no executor has been named.
“I do not know of the existence of a will and have no reason to believe that the decedent executed testamentary documents in any form,” her filing obtained by the Daily News states.
She said “an emergency exists to the extent that the appointment should be made without notice because immediate action and decisions need to be made to continue the ongoing management and supervision of decedent’s business interests.”
If no will is produced, Prince’s estate will go to his siblings under Minnesota law.
Tyka lists herself and her half-siblings as potential heirs.
The group includes John Nelson, Norrine Nelson, Sharon Nelson, Alfred Jackson and Omar Baker, she said.
She says their deceased half-sister Lorna Nelson died with no children.
Interestingly, Prince’s reported half-brother Duane Nelson, who worked security for Prince before a falling out and his death a few years ago, was not listed.
Sources told TMZ.com that Prince’s estate is worth less than half the $300 million estimate reported last week.
