President Obama and Bush must have had an awkward flight home from Africa with their wives Tuesday, after both gentlemen enjoyed the company of other ladies during Nelson Mandela's memorial service.
The affair seemed to have brought out the flirt in everyone, as former President George W. Bush got chummy with Jordan's stylish Queen Rania and President Obama obliged Denmark’s overly friendly Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and posed for a selfie that instantly went viral.
Bush’s wife Laura was snapped with an expression showing that she was less than thrilled with her husband's chat with the Middle Eastern royal.
Likewise, Obama’s wife Michelle was captured giving her husband a stern look as he schmoozed with the Scandinavian beauty during the service.
Surprisingly, former President Bill Clinton — well-known for his charm — was seen to be perfectly content watching the proceedings as he sat beside his wife, Hillary.
The Obamas and Bushes flew to the U.S. aboard Air Force One Tuesday night, less than 13 hours after they arrived in Africa to attend the service remembering the anti-apartheid leader who died on Dec. 5 at age 95.
Pool reports indicate that the Obamas and Bushes dined together on the journey home, with adviser Valerie Jarrett, Attorney General Eric Holder and National Security Adviser Susan Rice, who also attended the Tuesday service.
Thousands of mourners gathered at the FNB Stadium in Soweto, near Johannesburg.
Though the White House had plenty of pictures of the Air Force One entourage on their journey to Africa on Monday, there were no pictures yet released of the Presidents and their wives on the flight home.
On the 15-hour journey from the U.S. to Johannesburg on Monday, President Bush charmed the passengers on Air Force One as he showed off digital pictures of his painting collection on his tablet, according to snapshots taken by White House photographer Pete Souza.
The former secretary of state is seen forcing a smile as she reviews Bush’s art.
Other casual pictures show the Obamas and Bushes seated around a table, dressed down and catching up.
But Clinton seemed to have redeemed the time to talk business, as she is photographed at the center of attention in one pictures, showing the President, First Lady and Obama’s top advisor Ben Rhodes listening attentively as she speaks.
Clinton flew aboard Air Force One to Africa, but made her own arrangements to get home and didn’t fly out on the President’s plane.
