What a hairy situation.
Paris Hilton is being sued by a hair extensions company that is claiming she wore the locks of a competitor in 2008 — allegedly violating a contract the hotel heiress had with the company.
Hairtech International Inc. is seeking $35 million in damages, which is 10 times what the 29-year-old socialite was paid for under the contract.
In the filing, the company gripes that Hilton also missed a launch party in 2007 for the hair extensions line because she was behind bars. She served 23 days in jail after being caught for driving twice with a suspended license while on probation for reckless driving.
Hairtech is contending the company lost $6.6 million because of Hilton's absence.
The company also said Hilton's partying lifestyle contradicts Hairtech's marketing campaign.
Hilton's publicist did not respond to calls seeking comment.
It isn't Hilton's first brush with the law over her promotional duties.
In 2008, the producers of the film "Pledge This!" sued the starlet, claiming she did not promote the film properly. But a judge ruled she didn't owe the $8.3 million it cost to create the film.
A court has yet to decide whether she will have to pay the $1 million fee Hilton was paid for appearing in the movie, which made less than $3 million and was shown in just 25 theaters.
