Offset Claims He Was Arrested For Being Black And Successful

Offset, who was arrested last week and taken to jail after Georgia police found a number of weapons and drugs in his car, claims he was pulled over because is young, black and successful.

His attorney, Drew Findling, told TMZ that the arresting officers are in the wrong because they did not perform a field sobriety test.

The 26-year-old Migos rapper was driving outside Atlanta on July 20 when cops say he failed to maintain a lane and pulled him over.

Upon talking to the rapper, officers claimed they smelled marijuana – which did not lead them to conduct any further tests to detect impairment.

Officers discovered at least two handguns, less than an ounce of marijuana and more than $107,000 in cash, reports Variety.

Offset, a convicted felon, was charged with illegally possessing two handguns, marijuana and making an improper lane change.

He was soon released on $17,000 bail and quickly returned home to his wife, Cardi B, and their newborn daughter, Kulture.

Offset has had nothing but amazing things to say about his attorney on Instagram.

“I would like to thank this man,” Offset said in a snap featuring Findling. “Lawyer/friend he has taught me a lot about getting more involved in community. He helps me financially outside the courtroom he is the best lawyer I know I love him to death.”
