NICOLE SCHERZINGER SAYS SHE WISHES SHE WAS MORE SLUTTY

Despite rising to fame in a burlesque, lingerie-clad stage show oozing sex appeal, former Pussycat Dolls front woman Nicole Scherzinger says she wishes she were 'more slutty.'

"To be honest with you, I sometimes wish I were more slutty," she said in an interview with The Independent. "I'd probably be a lot more successful if I were."

The pop star known for making men wish their girlfriends were hot like her seems much more jaded than confident in the interview, mulling over the reasons why she isn't at her "mountain top" of fame yet.

"This is such a tough industry, you know. To make it, you really have to sell your soul to the devil," she said.

"That's probably why I haven't quite reached the top of my mountain. I mean, where's my Tony Award, my Grammy, my Oscar? Why don't I have any of those things yet?"

After struggling to make it on her own, Scherzinger first joined Eden's Crush, then the Pussycat Dolls - which she said her mom hated.

"She wanted us to be called, simply, The Dolls, and she prayed every night for it."

Through it all Scherzinger still saw the collaborative group as a short-term gig. She had sights set on a solo career, and one that didn't involve stripping off the clothing.

"I come from a strong religious background, and I had a very conservative upbringing," she said. "So I was nervous, and confused. Here I was wanting to be Whitney Houston, so why did I have to dress in lingerie to do that? I didn't get it."

"I simply did as I was told," she added.

Coincidentally, Scherzinger could have had some of the success of today’s biggest pop stars. In a recent interview with Notion magazine she admitted to turning down the opportunity to sing Rihanna’s hit “We Found Love,” Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance.”
