Nicki Minaj Shuts Down Interview After Being Asked If She "Thrives On Drama"

Paging Miley Cyrus: Nicki Minaj still wants to know what’s good.

The rapper spoke out for the first time about her feud with the pop star in New York Times Magazine — but shut down the interview after she objected to being asked if she "thrives on drama."

The "Super Bass" rapper was game to share her thoughts on her ongoing beef with Cyrus, which was sparked by the "Wrecking Ball" singer's interview in the New York Times.

Cyrus said that Minaj was not "polite" when complaining about her MTV VMAs snub for Video of the Year, in which the rapper lamented how black artists are often overlooked for the top award.

In response, Minaj famously confronted her at the MTV Video Music Awards while accepting an award.

“Back to this b---- that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press, Miley, what’s good,” she blasted her.

The rapper elaborated in the profile on why Cyrus' comments continue to irk her.

“The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls," she said.

"You’re in videos with black men, and you’re bringing out black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how black women feel about something that’s so important?

“If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.’’

Minaj didn’t mind breaking her silence about her beef with Cyrus, but questions about her boyfriend Meek Mill’s feud with Drake led her to shut down the interview altogether.

‘‘They’re men, grown-a-- men,’’ she said about the rappers’ row. ‘‘It’s between them.’’

‘You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.’’

She was then asked if she “thrives on drama,” with the reporter citing the Meek Mill/Drake feud as well as the internal strife at Cash Money Records involving Birdman and Lil Wayne.

Minaj told the her that the question was “disrespectful,” and called her “rude” and a “troublemaker.”

‘‘What do the four men you just named have to do with me thriving off drama?’’ she asked, adding, “Do not speak to me like I’m stupid or beneath you in any way.”

Not long after, Minaj shut down the interview with, “I don’t care to speak to you anymore.”
