Nick Cannon Says Travis Scott ‘Isn’t For The Culture’

Nick Cannon isn’t too pleased with Travis Scott’s decision to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl.

“I’m team [Colin] Kaepernick all day,” Cannon shared with Raquel Harper of BET’s “Raq Rants.” “To me, I call it cultural equity. So we’re not mad at Big Boi for being on the Super Bowl. He’s for the people. But someone like Travis Scott, he’s got to walk gingerly.”

Then Cannon, 38, made it clear that Scott must prove he’s “for the people.”

“It’s more about truly having integrity to who you are in your music, your art form, the people you choose to interact with, the people you choose to procreate with.”

Cannon said Scott’s decision to have a baby with Kylie Jenner “wasn’t for the culture.” The couple share 11-month-old daughter Stormi Webster.

The comedian’s comments come weeks after the NFL announced that Maroon 5 will headline the halftime show with special guests Scott and Big Boi.

Gladys Knight will sing the national anthem. Singers Chloe x Halle will perform “America the Beautiful” also.
