Nelly’s Rape Accuser Wants Defamation Case Dropped

The woman who accused Nelly of rape wants a defamation case against her dropped because she says her story is true.

Monique Greene filed new documents, obtained by The Blast, that state because her account is allegedly true there are no grounds for defamation. Greene alleges Nelly and his team are libeling her in the press in order to salvage the reputation of “a performing artist who peaked in popularity a decade or so ago.”

The “Country Grammer” rapper counter-sued Greene for defamation after she sued him for sexual assault and defamation in December. Greene claimed that he started masturbating and then had oral and vaginal sex with her against her will on his tour bus last October. The defamation part of her lawsuit had to do with what came after the alleged attack, claiming he and his team started a campaign against her.

Greene wants his counter-suit dismissed.

In separate court documents, obtained by The Blast, Greene also accuses Nelly’s girlfriend Shantel Jackson of corroborating his alibi to “further his defamation campaign” against her. Jackson later released a statement saying she was “at the venues, in the dressing rooms, and on that tour bus” at the time of Greene’s alleged attack.

The rape charges against Nelly were eventually dropped when Greene refused to testify against him.
