Mystikal has been freed on bond after 18 months behind bars.
The “Tarantula” rapper, 48, was released from a Lousiana prison after posting a $3 million bond in his rape case, reports TMZ.
“It’s been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again,” his lawyer, Tim Yazbeck, told the website.
Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Taylor, has been in prison since August 2017, when he turned himself in on charges of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping after a Louisiana woman came forward to accuse him of sexual assault. The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges that December.
He is expected to remain free until his trial in May.
Last month, it was reported that the emcee was close to being released on bond, thanks to the money from a new record label and money raised by his family and friends.
