A music publisher is demanding $2.5 million in unpaid royalties for the use of "Mrs. Officer" on Lil Wayne's 2008 hit CD "Tha Carter III."
The Royalty Network and record producer Darius (Deezle) Harrison owned the rights to the composition of Harrison's "Mrs. Officer" along with rights to any profits from ring tones, music videos or streaming media, they claim in a suit filed Wednesday in Manhattan Federal Court.
