Michael B. Jordan Set To Direct And Star In ‘Thomas Crown Affair’ Remake

Michael B. Jordan has set his sophomore directorial effort as a reimagining of Thomas Crown Affair. The 37-year-old has been attached to star in the film since 2016. the actor has now signed on to direct for Amazon MGM Studios, which will release the film exclusively in theaters worldwide. He will also produce under his Outlier Society banner alongside Elizabeth Raposo, from a screenplay by Drew Pearce. With Outlier Society, Jordan has a first-look film deal and overall TV deal at Amazon MGM. Additional producers will also include Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff, as well as executive producer Alan Trustman, who wrote the original 1968 film. The first edition of Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Norman Jewison, stars Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. In the movie, McQueen plays a billionaire businessman who out of boredom steals valuable jewels and paintings. Dunaway is an investigator who uncovers his criminal behavior. Thomas Crown Affair was first remade in 1999 starring Pierce Brosnan as the billionaire and Renee Russo as the savvy investigator. Plot details of Michael B. Jordan’s pending refresher have been kept under wraps although Deadline reports previous drafts of a screenplay based on the original were written by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson before locking in with Pearce.
