Rapper Meek Mill is mourning the loss of his cousin, who was killed on Tuesday during a string of senseless violence in the streets of Philadelphia.
Meek Mill, born Robert Williams, took to Instagram to remember his 21-year-old cousin Angelo Colon, who was shot in the head on Tuesday night, WCAU-TV reported.
"Damn Lo! Watching my family die to these philly streets! Probation is the only thing that got me tied to come coming back here so frequent!!," the 29-year-old artist wrote beneath a picture of his smiling cousin.
"My mission is to save my family from these streets and change the mindframe of all my lil cousins growing up in it!!!! #RIPLO hurt me to see you in this same spot lifeless!" the Philly native continued.
Colon died after being shot in the head outside of a take-out restaurant when occupants of a burgundy vehicle drove past and opened fire around 10 p.m., according to police.
At least four others were killed over the course of 15 hours of bloodshed in the streets of Philly, the local station reported.
News of the rapper's loss comes just two weeks after singer Janelle Monáe's cousin Natasha Hays died from gunshot wounds as the result of a drive-by shooting in Kansas.
The 37-year-old mother of three was killed after an unidentified person sprayed gunfire into her home in the middle of the night, Fox4 reported.
Fellow rapper T-Pain also lost a loved one to violence last month.
His 23-year-old niece Javona Glover was stabbed to death outside of the Florida Walgreens where she had worked.
