It looks like Meek Mill thinks Travis Scott should rethink his decision to join Maroon 5 in performing for the Super Bowl halftime show.
After news broke that the “Sicko Mode” artist would take the stage in Atlanta for the Feb. 3 game, rapper Meek Mill responded on Twitter Thursday asking, “For What?”
“He don’t need that he on fire already!” he explained. “Stay strong in this s–t!”
Later he added, “And don’t get it twisted I f–k wit Travis too!”
Last week sources revealed that Maroon 5 was struggling to find an artist to join them for the performance that will be viewed by more than 100 million people because of the controversy surrounding the NFL‘s stance on a player’s right to protest (which was spurred when quarterback Colin Kaepernick started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racism and police brutality.)
Meek, 31, who was released from prison in April after being locked up over a minor probation violation, has been a strong supporter of Kaepernick’s activism and even revealed in September that he penned a song about the athlete.
Other stars who have shown solidarity with Kaepernick’s cause include Rihanna, who turned down the Super Bowl gig and Amy Schumer, who has refused to be in any Super Bowl commercials.
