Mariah Carey Puts A Gag Order On Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon's lips are sealed.

The 33-year-old "America's Got Talent" host confirmed Thursday that he and wife Mariah Carey, 44, have been "living in separate houses for months," but according to a TMZ report, Cannon can't say much more than that.

"Nick is barred from saying anything about the split," a source told the gossip site.

Allegedly if Cannon breaks their agreement, he will suffer financial consequences but Carey on the other hand reportedly "has the right under the agreement to announce the split on her terms."

Cannon was apparently only permitted to say they were living apart, but as far as their looming divorce, he has no choice but to stay quiet.

When followed by paparazzi Thursday, he completely ignored their questions while chatting on his phone.

"(Right now) my main focus is my kids," Cannon told The Insider of his 3-year-old twins with Carey, Moroccan and Monroe.

Carey and Cannon married on April 30, 2008, at the singer's Bahamas estate and every year since, the duo made a pubic effort to renew their vows - except for this past April.
