"Hey, where do you want me to put everybody?" a man is heard asking.
Another man and woman conduct a headcount, as a man - possibly the 23-year-old recording the video - is heard discussing the tornado with a woman.
"They said there's one on the ground," he says.
"That's the one coming," the woman replies.
Flashes of light flicker outside the store windows, briefly illuminating the tiled floor and shelves filled with goods. A man with a flashlight can be seen walking around.
Then the rumbling sound of the tornado begins.
The people inside erupt in panicked screams as the windows shatter. The powerful, howling winds blast in like a freight train and then fade away, leaving horrified screams in its wake.
"Don? Don?! DON?!" a woman cries out in terror.
"Oh my God!" another person screams.
Things seem to calm for a moment.
"We're good, we're good," someone says. "I think we're gonna do it."
The wind then picks up again with trembling viciousness.
"Jesus! Jesus!" a woman yells. "Oh heavenly father!"
"I love everyone," a man cries out. "I love everyone, man."
Calls for people to "stay down" follow. As the winds gradually slow, people check if anyone is hurt.
"Are you OK?" one person asks.
"I'm OK, are you OK?" another responds.
"Everyone stay calm, it's over," someone else says, as the weakened winds continue to rattle through broken windows.
Officials said at least 89 people were killed and 2,000 buildings damaged in the tornado that ripped through Joplin. The storm system spawned twisters throughout the Midwest, touching down across a broad area stretching from Oklahoma to Wisconsin.
