Jay-Z and Beyonce aren't so different than any other New York couple expecting their first child. They're hoping their forthcoming offspring is happy and healthy -- and they're considering moving to Brooklyn!
At a charity carnival he hosted Thursday night, Jay-Z, 41, told E! Online that the idea of moving to the outer borough, where the rapper grew up, isn't far from his mind.
And it doesn't hurt that he's part owner of the New Jersey Nets, which will relocate to the borough next year and celebrate its stadium opening with performances by the man himself.
"I have been thinking about it," said the rapper, who currently lives in Manhattan with his wife.
So what's holding him back from relocating his brood?
"The prices over there are really high," he said. "It's not like before!"
Jay-Z was worried about more than just his own wallet, however.
The event benefitted the Shawn Carter Foundation -- Carter being Jay-Z's real name -- which sends underprivileged kids to college.
"If you want to be lazy, that's a different thing," said the hip-hop humanitarian. "But if you apply yourself and do everything that you have to do to get to a certain point and can't go further because of your financial situation, I think that is a shame."
So if anyone wants to help two struggling kids raise the money to move out to Brooklyn, Jay-Z and Beyonce would surely appreciate it.
