Cops chased six thugs who fired guns at a Queens housing project - catching them trying to hide in the sand of Rockaway Beach, police said.

Cops heard gunfire at the Hammel Houses in Rockaway Beach around 11:30 p.m. Friday. They followed six men running from from the scene, catching them under the boardwalk. Six guns were recovered, and the suspects were hit with weapons charges.
