Is Boyz II Men joining the ranks of Milli Vanilli?

The R&B group may have been caught lip synching during NBC's annual live broadcast of the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting on Tuesday evening.

After the group performed "This Christmas," host Natalie Morales introduced the next performer, Charice. But instead, the Boyz II Men track started replaying for approximately 10 seconds.

David Foster, Charice's piano accompanist took the mic from the visibly shaken singer and told the confused audience, "Live TV, are you having a great time? There ain't nothing like live TV here in New York City. We're gonna get this right in the next 15 seconds."

A spokesman for Boyz II Men told Gossip Cop that the mishap was due to a technical glitch.

"They did not lip sync," the rep said, adding it was "a mess up from tech in [the] control room."

But after the performance, Twitter and discussion boards were abuzz with lip synching rumors.

"I can't believe Boyz II Men would lip-synch," one person tweeted.

"First Ashlee Simpson, then Boyz II men," wrote another, referring to the pop singer who was infamously caught lip-syncing on Saturday Night Live in 2004. "If you lip-synch, don't go on NBC."
